WPDES Permit for Non-Contact Cooling Water Discharges

Published On: December 8, 2020

If your facility discharges non-contact cooling water (NCCW) to the storm sewer or directly to a surface water body, your general WPDES permit has several requirements beyond routine monitoring and reporting.  Depending on the nature of the discharge and the discharge location, you may be required to develop a Temperature Best Management Practices (BMP) Plan, an Arsenic BMP Plan, and/or a Phosphorus/TSS BMP Plan.  Sigma is here to proactively help you with this process and to manage your regulatory obligations.
