Greenprint – Milwaukee Shoreline Vision Plan – Phase 1 – War Memorial Center North Parking Lot

Published On: August 12, 2020

We are excited to share our progress on Phase 1 of the Greenprint – Milwaukee Shoreline Vision Plan, the Milwaukee County War Memorial Center North Parking Lot redesign and enhancement project.

This transformative project focused on implementing various green infrastructure strategies along this active stretch of Lake Michigan. Stormwater management strategies featured in this project include: permeable pavers; a system of bioswales; native landscaping; and a dry rock channel that conveys stormwater during rain events, capturing, slowing, and filtering water from surrounding pavements before draining into Lake Michigan.

Sigma is proud to be a part of Milwaukee’s success in becoming a national leader in the adaptation of green infrastructure – providing innovative stormwater management solutions to clients in Wisconsin and beyond. Green infrastructure delivers an effective and economical solution to stormwater management while providing water quality, community, and ecological enhancements.

This project received grant funding support from the following entities: Fund for Lake Michigan; National Fish and Wildlife Foundation – Save Our Great Lakes; and Milwaukee Metropolitan Sewerage District.
