The Sigma Group part of teams for Business Journal Real Estate award-winning projects

The Sigma Group was honored to be part of these four exciting projects that recently received  2017 Real Estate Awards from the Milwaukee Business Journal.

Milwaukee Electric Tool  Co. Phase I Expansion, Brookfield, Best New Development – Industrial: Served on the design team for this iconic hometown industry’s expansion of its headquarters with plans to add 500 new, local, family-sustaining jobs. Provided the civil and environmental engineering for site enhancements that featured green infrastructure elements to improve the water quality of the stormwater run-off.

Bader Rutter Associates, Milwaukee, Best Renovation – Office: Supported the continuum of urban redevelopment of downtown’s Milwaukee River waterfront as the civil and environmental engineer. Led the environmental restoration of a repurposed 19th-century building and site enhancements that included a riverwalk plaza.

Freshwater Plaza, Milwaukee, Best New Development – Retail:Led the civil engineering and environmental redevelopment of this century-old former foundry, contaminated brownfield site in the burgeoning Walker’s Point neighborhood of Milwaukee’s Harbor District. Collaborated with the architect and UWM to develop sustainable water management techniques to harvest, treat and store rainwater from the buildings and plaza for irrigation reuse. As a catalyst for growth in this part of Milwaukee, Freshwater Plaza’s water feature also serves as a  welcoming entry to the UWM School of Freshwater Science and demonstrates the region’s commitment to freshwater technology.

84 South, Greenfield, Best Public-Private Partnership: Environmental support services for major mixed-use development involving demolition, development agreement for zoning, and environmental due diligence.
