More than 1,400 runners, walkers, strollers, and toddlers along with over 100 volunteers came out for the Hank Aaron State Trail 5K Run/Walk on August 11th. The community event, aimed to raise awareness and funds, supports the mission of the Friends group: sustaining, promoting, and enhancing the Hank Aaron State Trail, to create a lasting legacy for present and future generations.

The event featured 35 company and community teams, the band De La Buena, Colectivo Coffee beverages and bakery, Sprecher and Cedar Crest ice cream floats, and Cargill burgers. Milwaukee Mayor Tom Barrett welcomed the crowd and Fox 6’s Jenna Sachs and Ted Perry were the event announcers.

Sigma’s Bob Peschel served as the Run/Walk organizer. Sigma fielded a team of 55 participants which took 9th place for fastest team.
