Charles began his love for computers learning BASIC at age 11. He has over 30 years of IT experience in a diverse array of roles. Some of which include: helping to implement one of the first digital rewards programs in the US, building Wide Area Networks that spanned dozens of states using 28k modems, and writing AI bots to trade stocks, futures and crypto markets. He believes software should be free (as in freedom), and prefers building his own servers from scratch. He has been with Sigma for 20 years and has maintained a 99.999% uptime for Sigma’s services. He believes that IT should enable business while remaining unseen, and has remained true to that vision.
“With the rise of AI and the ubiquity of cheap computing power, humanity stands at the cusp of a Golden Age. It’s important that we embrace this new technology as an extension of our abilities while never losing sight of ourselves. We must never allow computers to think for us, lest we lose our ability to reason. I can’t wait to see what advancements the future has in store for us. It’s truly an amazing time to be alive.”
