Sigma performs civil and site work for healthcare facility
Delafield, Wisconsin
The Sigma Group was retained to provide civil engineering and survey services for the Orthopaedic Associates of Wisconsin development.
The new facility was constructed on a seven-acre site north of Golf Road, just west of I-94 in the Town of Delafield. The $20 million development provides a 25,000-square foot surgery center, and 45,000-square foot medical office clinic for the Orthopaedic Association of Wisconsin.
Sigma’s involvement in the project ranged from preliminary engineering for the proposed master site plan all the way through to providing civil construction documents and construction administration.
The site design for this project included a site survey, site preparation and erosion control plan, as well as both grading and utility models. In addition to 2D construction documents, 3D CAD models were provided for both pre-construction coordination and on-site uses. Extra efforts were made to protect adjacent environmentally sensitive areas.
Due to the medical use and design of the development, diligent coordination with the Town of Delafield Fire Department was required. Emergency drop-off areas for medical transport, ADA access routes, underground storage tanks for fire access, and high capacity wells for both fire and hospital use are a few examples of this coordination.
