Sigma reviews and inspects pro football stadium

Green Bay, Wisconsin

Lambeau Field is one of the most well-known facilities in all of professional sports. Originally built in 1957, the stadium has been renovated multiple times including its most recent expansion completed in 2013. Owned by the Green Bay/Brown County Professional Football Stadium District (District), the stadium is operated and maintained by the Green Bay Packers.

The Green Bay Packers organization (Team) performs demand and preventative maintenance activities as well stadium capital improvement projects, with the District also performing some annual capital improvements.

The Sigma Group performs, in accordance with an agreement between the Team and District, an annual audit of the current maintenance program, procedures, maintenance history, and an inspection of the facility and site.

The annual audit includes a review of the team’s Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) which contains and tracks the history of maintenance activities and assesses the content, organization and protocol for various documents contained within.

A physical inspection of the site and facility is then performed including grounds and landscaping, parking lots, pavement, curbs, site lighting, security, stormwater management, utilities, seating bowl, concession stands and food service areas, concourses, conveying systems, electrical, fire protection, lighting, mechanical and plumbing systems, exterior walls, furniture, fixtures and equipment, playing field, roof systems, seating and railings, security systems, signage, and audio visual systems. Periodic operational assessments have been performed (inspections during stadium events) to identify performance issues which could improve facility functionality or enhance patron experience.

The inspection of the site and facility identifies potential maintenance items to be addressed as demand or preventative maintenance either to maintain or extend the life of the asset, for a health or life safety reason, or to maintain or improve aesthetic qualities. The audit and report compare the findings of the current inspection to the previous year to identify whether previous issues have been addressed or are being monitored in accordance with the maintenance program set up by the Team and District.
