Grand Trunk Wetland Restoration Open House

Published On: May 19, 2018

The City of Milwaukee is developing plans for the restoration of the 7.5-acre Grand Trunk Wetlands located in Milwaukee’s Inner Harbor with the goals of ecological and habitat restoration pan providing new opportunities for recreation and public access. The Grand Trunk Wetland is one of the last remnants of the Milwaukee Estuary’s historic network of wetlands. Sigma is serving as the lead for a multidisciplinary consulting team to plan and design revitalization of this significant natural area. This past May, the City hosted a public open house at the Brinn Labs located on Steward Street adjacent to the Grand Trunk Site. City and project team representatives presented concepts for the restoration and to engage community input.
