Demolition Planning

Sigma has provided a full range of services for remodeling and demolition activities. During planning, Sigma has performed hazardous material inspection for such projects as the new Cancer Center, demolition of the 1927-57 Doyne Hospital buildings and for the North Tower addition.

As part of planning, budget costing of abatement, cleanup of contaminated soil and stormwater management were performed. Sigma developed a standard operating practice (SOP) and trained hospital personnel regarding the environmental aspects of renovation and demolition, including asbestos-containing building materials (ACBM), lead-based paint (LBP) and hazardous materials.

Prior to training, these activities were handled inconsistently, causing delays and unplanned expenditures.
